Executive Chefs, Sous Chefs, Chefs and Specialist Chefs (NOC 6321)
It is possible to work as a Chef in Canada with a degree qualifications.
In addition, the following the requirements are to me met by the candidate:
- Usually secondary school certificate is required
- Trade certification or equivalent credentials, experience and training
- Executive chefs usually need management training few years of experience in the food preparation domain
- Minimum two years of experience in a supervisory role
- Sous-chefs, specialist chefs and chefs must have relevant experience with several years of experience in food preparation domain.

Executive chefs
- Strategize and plan food preparation activities of several restaurants, chains, or other establishments with food services
- Confer and consult with clients regarding events and specialty functions
- Plan and prepare food menus that meets quality standards
- Administer the responsibilities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks
- Conduct recruitment and hiring of new staff
- Prepare food on a dailybasis or for special functions
Sous-chefs
- Oversee the activities and tasks of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other workers
- Deliver new cooking techniques and new equipment to the cooking staff
- Devise and strategize menus and food supplies requisition
- Prepare and cook meals for special functions
Chefs and specialist chefs
- Prepare meals or specialty foods, such as pastries, salads, soups, sauces, vegetables and meat, and fish dishes
- Guide and mentor cooks in preparation, cooking, and presentation of food
- Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
- Devise and strategize new food menus
- Perform requisition of kitchen supplies
